Online High School Diploma

I have a friend who works for me occasionally as a personal assistant. She's a very intelligent woman, but was forced to quit school at age 10 by her parents (she lives in Thailand) because "she's a girl and girls don't need an education" and because the family could not afford the $6 a month in school fees.

As I got to know her, I found that she is highly intelligent. For example, she taught herself English in three months, while at the same time, learning about computers, the Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows Movie Maker, and other software. She gets excited about learning new stuff because she has only four years of schooling. She never learned how to do multiplication and division, never learned about fractions and percentages. She understands all of those now, because she taught herself once I gave her a basic understanding.

She signed up for a high school diploma program, held on Sundays. When I asked her why, she replied, "It's important to me because I never went to high school, I missed out on all that learning."

So if you never completed high school, I can tell you that you are missing out on a lot the world has to offer. Consider getting your high school diploma online.

By the way, this woman has two young children, works as a waitress, and makes about US$300 a month. If she can do it, you can do it.

Online Technical Certificates

There are many well paid jobs that don't require a university degree but do require a technical college certificate or technical college degree. Nurses, forensic scientists, X-Ray technicians, morticians, criminal investigators, and many other jobs pay well and require technical training before applying for the job.

There are many online colleges that work specifically with students to give them the technical education they need to get the job they want. I took an industrial engineering course in the 70s; I had to study the lessons, complete the tests, do the lab work (assembling electronic circuits, in my case), and submit the results of the lab work. My results were reviewed and graded and I received encouragement each time I completed a level. At the end, I was awarded a certificate in industrial electronics.

If you have completed high school, and don't know what you want to do with your life, ask yourself what you are good at... take a course in one of the areas that interest you. Forget about what your friends and family tell you, the only person you have to please is yourself.

Online Degrees

If you want to earn your degree, but you do not think you have the time, think again because with online colleges on the Internet, you can earn your degree online without ever stepping foot in a classroom!

Depending on what type on degree you desire, there is an online degree program designed especially for you. Online degree programs are geared towards those students who are interested in subjects such as theology, musical arts and education, health care administration, as well as many other well paid areas.

Receiving your degree was once reserved for a select few who had all the time and money in the world to devote to their schooling. Today, however, the opportunity is available to the masses and these programs are specifically designed to be obtained by a full-time working individual. Financial aid and educational grants are sometimes available through the proper resources for these programs.

If you choose to earn your degree online, you have to go through the same series of tests and applications as with an in-class degree program. In the USA, you will be required to submit a GRE or GMAT test as well as fill out all of the necessary paperwork and field requirements also required for all onsite degree programs on campus grounds. These degrees are taken very seriously and you have the same amount of expectations placed on you had you received your degree in a classroom environment.

Contacting your local universities, or doing a Google search for your specific targeted online degree course will help you find all of the pertinent information you need to fill out the necessary paperwork and go through the proper set of interviews in order to be accepted into the degree online program.

Most online programs can be completed within four years time. Some programs will be longer, others shorter. It all depends on the field that you are earning your degree in. If you desire to have a degree behind your name and are willing and able to do the coursework required of you, but do not have the time to be inside of a classroom for twelve hours a day, look into an online degree program. It may be exactly what you are looking for.
